OPPORTUNITY

Many customers using batch or serial numbers (SN) require additional data to be stored and linked to their SBO documents. For example, during goods receipt, operators may need to capture extra attributes related to a batch (e.g., expiration date, supplier batch number) or attach supporting images for quality control purposes. Currently, SBO documents do not provide an easy way to enrich batch/SN data VIA SCANNER with additional attributes or media, limiting traceability and efficiency. Current feature applies to reception but the scope will be enlarged to Picking and Delivery processes. Only for Scan Android application.

OVERVIEW

At inbound receiving (GRPO), the operator needs to capture photo evidence of:

• pallet/box condition (damages),
• product label/lot sticker, expiry/MFG date,
• delivery note / CMR / packing list from the supplier
• quality reception checklist points (truck is clean, pallet has no loose nails)

Photos must be taken on the android device camera, linked to the SBO document (attachments tab), and—when applicable—to the line and to the batch/serial used.

• Limited data capture: Batch and SN information is stored in SBO, but users may require extra images that are not captured natively.
• Lack of traceability: Users may need to attach pictures or supporting documents (e.g., quality checks, damage reports) to batch/SN transactions.
• Manual workarounds: Some customers manually store batch-related data in external spreadsheets or custom fields, leading to inefficiencies and errors.
• Operational delays: If additional information must be entered manually after scanning, it slows down warehouse operations.
